RECONCILIATION
The SED Consulting Group ( SED ) was established in 1996 to provide a range of practical business advisory and management consulting services to small to medium sized enterprises in bofth the private and public sectors

Today, SED has offices located across Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland, Northern Territory and South Australia and has plans to continue to grow the business across Australia. This network of offices, staffed by experienced and knowledgeable people, enables SED to provide services that are both relevant and cost-effectiveto specific areas and sectors .

SED has been working in and with the Australian Indigenous Community since 1998. This relationship was further enhanced with the establishment of Ingenuity, a specialist aboriginal business unit in 2004. SED – Ingenuity provide a diverse range of services to the Aboriginal Community, including:
  • Business advice to start-up and established businesses and organisations;
  • Community consultation to underpin the development of new programs to enhance the
  • well-being of aboriginal people;
  • Strategic development and community planning tailored to the unique needs of Indigenous
  • organisations and communities; and
  • Expert facilitation to small and large groups working in the Indigenous sector.
The breadth and capability of the SED network means we are well positioned to support and contribute to the development of business and not-for–profit organisations in both the Indigenous and mainstream communities. Further details on the capacity and capability of SED can be found at www.sedconsulting.com.au

SED has been successful in developing many outstanding results for a range of stakeholders in the Aboriginal Community, however now believes it is time to move to the next stage in this relationship.
The development of a formal Reconciliation Action Plan and the commitment of all SED staff in its implementation is the 1st step in the process.

SED sees our Reconciliation Action Plan working at a number of levels, from the simple but profound acknowledgement of traditional land holders whenever and wherever we meet, to striving to impact directly on Government Policy based on our accumulated and knowledge and on-going learning.

SED believes that real change can only start to happen when individuals and organisations firstly recognise that action needs to be taken and then start the journey, even if by only small steps in the first instance.

The Reconciliation Action Plan is our first step – this is not a Project rather an on-going process that will recognise Aboriginal people as the first peoples of Australia. We acknowledge to learn and respect their culture and contribute in an on-going way, enhancing the lives of Aboriginal people from a social, cultural and economic perspective – we will all learn and grown as individuals from this process.
